The Earthworm Farm

Brad has a friend who has an earthworm farm. Mr. Mark was nice enough to take the time out of his day to give us a tour of the farm and explain to us what they are doing. The girls had a good time learning about the worms and what their function is. Kenna liked them so much she decided to taste their "poop". Let me explain - she was playing in a bucket of "dirt" in the barn and looked down at her hands and saw how dirty they were. She licked a finger to clean her hand - but that finger that she had just put in her mouth and licked was dirty and it wasn't dirt she was playing with. It was the finished product (earthworm poop) that just hadn't been put into the bags to be sold for fertilizer. It was so gross!!

Here is Auntie Julie and Ashlyn at the farm. We were so happy that Auntie Julie, Grammy and Grampy and Miss "Auntie" Bett's brother Jack came along with us. We rode the ferry out to the island and then Mr. Mark & his wife took s around and showed us some of the popular sites on the island. We finished up by having lunch and then it was time for the ferry ride back over to Tacoma to get back and get ready for Uncle Spencer & Miss "Auntie" Bett's engagement party.

Here Kenna was helping Mr. Mark feed the earthworms the scraps that he gets from the local restaurants. If you ask Kenna what her favorite part of the farm was she will tell you it was the worm that she saw that was "sleeping" at the bottom of a barrel full of water.

hApPy VaLeNtInE's Day

Today the girls celebrated Valentine's Day at school and day care. Kenna got to have two parties. The first one was at Cooper Mountain - they played BINGO and had a treat walk (like a cake walk but with candy instead of cake), exchanged Valentines and ate lots of candy and sweets. Then it was on to party number two at Small World - she and Ashlyn had a party with all of their friends at day care. After they ate a bunch more junk food and lots and lots and lots of candy - they all sat on the floor in a big circle and exchanged Valentine's.
This first picture is of the girls in their Valentine's Day dresses from gramma and grampa, the second picture is of Ashlyn and her boyfriend Layden.

This is a picture of Ashlyn and her Kamina. This is the world's best photographer. She is the one who takes all those wonderful pictures of the girls. We love her so much!!
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone - We LOVE you all!!

Click Clack Moo

I got to go with Kenna's class to the children's theater downtown Portland to see Click Clack Moo today. It was really a lot of fun and Kenna had a great time. Her favorite character in the story was the hen - mine was the duck. She was so excited that she got to ride the bus there and back. The little girl in the picture with Kenna is her buddy Isabelle. If you have a chance give her a call and ask her about the play - it is part of her homework. She would love that.
